Led by Apprentice Amy-Lauren, you will get up close and personal with the mechanics of the machine. You'll spend the class actively practicing essential techniques while prioritizing safety.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Decoding the machine: Identify and understand the function of every key part of a standard sewing machine

  • Prep Masterclass: Learn the fool proof, step-by-step method to wind a bobbin, insert it correctly, and thread the machine without the tangles.

  • Stitch Practice: Get hands-on experience practicing a straight stitch which is the most common stitch type.

  • Fixing the Glitches: Build a mental toolkit, to troubleshoot and fix common stitch issues on the fly (no more bird's nests!).
